The Dexter Jones Award is an unrestricted prize of $5,000, which is presented annually to an emerging sculptor for an outstanding work of sculpture in bas-relief.
The award is given in memory of the late Dexter Jones (1926-1986), a Fellow of the National Sculpture Society. In addition to being an accomplished sculptor of portraits and works in the round, Jones created several outstanding bas-reliefs in his lifetime.
Eligibility: Each competitor must be an emerging sculptor, between the ages of 18 and 39. Applicants must be United States citizens or residents with a social security number. The use of figurative or realist sculpture is of greatest interest. Works submitted must be in bas-relief.
Selection Process: The jury of selection consists of three elected members of the National Sculpture Society.
Submission Materials: Images of three different original works of sculpture in bas-relief may be submitted. You may submit up to two views of three different works.
