National Sculpture Society is seeking applications for the Alex J. Ettl Grant. The Ettl Grant is an unrestricted prize of $4,000* sponsored by the National Sculpture Society. It is awarded annually to a figurative or realist sculptor who has demonstrated a commitment to sculpting and outstanding ability in his or her body of work. The Ettl Grant is for a mature body of work; sculpture created in workshop or instructional settings should not be submitted.
The jury consists of three prominent sculptors. Applicants cannot be elected members of the National Sculpture Society. All applicants must be citizens of or residents in the United States with a social security number.
Each applicant must submit a CD with:
- At least twelve images of their work (of at least ten different works), on the CD. Images should be in JPEG (.jpg) format with a resolution of 72 dpi. The longest side of the image should be approximately 1500 pixels long.
- A list stating the title, medium and dimensions of the works submitted. This can be in the form of a Word (.doc), or PDF (.pdf) document on the CD.
- A biography/resume including where you have studied, honors & awards, exhibitions, commissions, and/or any other pertinent information. This can be in the form of a Word (.doc), or PDF (.pdf) document on the CD.
All information/images are presented to the jury in electronic format and submitted materials will not be returned.
Applications are due by September 30, 2011 and must be received by that date.
The grant will be presented at NSS' Honors and Awards Dinner in summer 2012.
