The National Competition for Figurative Sculpture is a two-part competition. Entrants may participate in either or both parts, and should indicate their preference on their application.
The competition sponsors are Brookgreen Gardens, Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, National Sculpture Society and New York Academy of Art.
PART ONE: THE FIGURE MODELING CONTEST: The objective is to successfully model a full-length figure from life over 28 hours. At the conclusion, the following prizes will be awarded:
Charlotte Geffken Prize: $5,000
Roger T. Williams Prize: $1,500
Awarded to an emerging sculptor who reaches for excellence in representational sculpture.Walter & Michael Lantz Prize: $750
Edward Fenno Hoffman Prize: $350
Awarded to an emerging sculptor who strives to uplift the human spirit through the medium of his/her art.Gloria Medal: Designed by C. Paul Jennewein
PART TWO: THE FIGURE MODELING CONTEST:
Dexter Jones Award: $5000
