New York, New York – The National Sculpture Society (NSS) is pleased to present its 75th Annual Awards Exhibition at the organization’s headquarters in the Park Avenue Atrium at 237 Park Avenue/466 Lexington Avenue, in midtown Manhattan. Opening on Monday, February 18, the juried show features the figurative works by fifty-six members. A reception will be held in May as part of the Society’s Annual Sculpture Celebration Weekend festivities. At the conclusion of the show in New York City, the exhibition will travel to Brookgreen Gardens in South Carolina where it will be on display from June 28 through August 24.
The Annual Awards Exhibition is National Sculpture Society's most popular exhibition. Over two hundred artists applied to the juried competition which boasts thousands of dollars in cash prizes. The sculptures on display encompass a variety of media - from bronze, marble and wood, to cast glass and stoneware - and represent the diverse styles, backgrounds and disciplines of NSS members. Fellows (FNSS), Elected Members (NSS), and Associates comprise the levels of sculptor membership of the organization, which is international in scope and appeal. National Sculpture Society and its members are dedicated to the creation and showcasing of art that is inspired by nature.

National Sculpture Society was founded in New York City in 1893 by a group of America’s most prominent sculptors. Its members have created much of this country’s public sculpture, coins, and medals since the late 1800s. It is the oldest organization of professional sculptors in the United States, and has been hosting exhibitions for over a century.
The 75th Annual Awards Exhibition is open to the public Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, February 18 through May 30, 2008. All exhibitions are open to the public free of charge and a catalogue of the show is available for purchase.
