HONORS AND AWARDS

Annual Exhibition Prizes The majority of the National Sculpture Society's prizes are given at its annual exhibition. Information regarding exhibition dates and application deadlines is announced in arts publications, on this website and other arts websites. is prepared.

Dexter Jones Award: The Award is an unrestricted prize of $1,000, which is presented annually to a young sculptor for an outstanding work of sculpture in bas-relief. The award is given in memory of the late Dexter Jones (1926-1986), who was a professional member and Fellow of the National Sculpture Society. In addition to being an accomplished sculptor of portraits and works in the round, Mr. Jones created several outstanding bas-reliefs in his lifetime... more details

Emerging Artists Award: If you are a young artist or an artist in an early stage of your career, you are eligible to enter the National Sculpture Competition, which is co-sponsored by the National Sculpture Society, Lyme Academy of Fine Arts, and Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. This includes prizes given for a figure modeling competition and other Young Sculptor Awards given based on jurying of slides...more details

Scholarships: Scholarships of $1,000 each are available for students of figurative or representational sculpture. Scholarships are paid directly to the academic institution through which the student applies. The submission deadline is April 30 of each year. Please review the scholarship application requirements prior to submitting an application.

Alex J. Ettl Grant: The National Sculpture Society awards the Ettl Grant annually to a realist sculptor who is not a professional member of the NSS and who has demonstrated outstanding ability in his or her life's work.
